Gionee S9 with dual rear cameras announced

Gionee has unveiled the S9 smartphone in its home market of China boasting dual-rear cameras. The dual camera setup is a 13MP unit with Sony sensor + 5MP unit with Samsung sensor for capturing images with depth of field blur effects. On the front there's 13MP camera for selfies and video calling.

The Gionee S9 features 5.5-inch Full HD (1920 x 1080 pixels) LTPS 2.5D curved glass display and is powered by 2GHz octa-core MediaTek Helio P10 processor backed by Mali T860 GPU, 4GB RAM and 64GB storage which can be expanded via microSD card.

It runs Android Marshmallow based Amigo OS 3.2 and offer hybrid dual-SIM slots, 4G VoLTE, WiFi, Bluetooth and GPS. A 3000mAh battery runs the show.

The phone sports metal unibody design that comes in black, gold and rose gold colors, measures 7.4mm around the waist and weighs 168.2g. It also includes a home button that houses the fingerprint sensor.

The Gionee S9 is priced at CNY 2499 ($365 | Rs. 24,700) and will go on sale in China starting from November 25 in Black, Gold and Rose Gold color. There is no details about global roll out.
