Huawei unveils Porsche Design-ed Mate 9
Along with the regular Mate 9, Huawei also introduced Porsche Design Huawei Mate 9 limited edition smartphone in partnership with luxury and legendary sports car company Porsche.
The Porsche Design edition flaunts premium metal unibody designs with a graphite finish and stylish black coloring and has dual-edges screens, just like on the galaxy S7 edge. Similar to Mate 9, the Porsche Design edition comes with Leica-certified dual rear cameras, but the fingerprint sensor is embedded into the home button and comes with major hardware upgrade when compared to Mate 9.
The Porsche Design Huawei Mate 9 features 5.5-inch Quad HD 5.5-inch quad-HD (2,560 x 1,440) AMOLED display with a pixel density of 534ppi, encased into a 7.5mm body. The phone is powered by octa-core Kirin 960 processor backed by Mali G71 GPU and 6GB RAM. On-board storage is 256GB, and can be expanded via microSD card.
Rest of the specs of the Porsche Design edition is similar to the regular Mate 9. It comes with 20MP (Monochrome sensor) + 12MP (color sensor) dual rear cameras with dual LED flash, OIS, PDAF, Hybrid Zoom (2x digital zoom that combines photos from both shooters) and laser-auto focus. The front facing camera is an 8MP unit.
Other features include hybrid dual-SIM slots, 4G LTE, WiFi 802.11ac, Bluetooth 4.2 LE, NFC, USB Type-C and SuperCharge technology that promises full day of charge in 20 minutes. It runs Android 7.0 Nougat with Emotion UI 5.0 on top and is fueled by 4000mAh battery.
The Porsche Design Huawei Mate 9 is priced at a whooping 1395 Euros ($1543 | Rs. 1,03,000) and will initially go on sale in the Europe in late December, followed by a launch in Asia and Middle East markets in January 2017.
