Play Store Now Shows Estimated Download Sizes In Overflow Menu & App Screen
The Play Store has been subject to a lot of updates in the recent days, with the major one being a complete overhaul of the Play Store UI. However, even as the new UI continues to be rolled out 'slowly' to Android users, one of our team members recently received an incremental update to the old Play Store UI itself.
After this Play Store update, you will be able to see app download sizes in various locations as shown below:
App Screen
Left: Old UI, Right: New UI |
Suggestions Screen
|
Search Screen
Play Store Circular Icon |
This update also brings the new circular icon of the Play Store. Circular icons were introduced with the Pixel Launcher (which is the stock launcher in Google Pixel & Pixel XL) and are supported natively by Nougat 7.1 as well.
Version Number of the update |
Although we do have the APK for this Play Store update, barring the circular icon, all the other changes which we have talked about above appear to be server side changes only. Hence once you manually install the APK file, you won't be able to see the changes in the location of download sizes immediately. However being on the latest version of the Play Store might increase your chances of getting this server side update at the earliest. So in case you are interested in installing the APK file, click here.
