Qualcomm Is Back At It Again, Takes Leap Of Numbers
Snapdragon, the one thing that everyone is concerned about before buying the new smartphone has just gotten better. Jumping from Snapdragon 821 to 835 seems to be another leap and another set of new features that it is hiding in its body (the chip of course).
The image clearly indicates the collaboration of big giants Qualcomm and Samsung in the making of this new, better, faster and more efficient Snadragon 835 chip. Not to mention, 820 and 821 have already established their places in the genre and are proven to be the most powerful ones roaming out in the market currently.
The team up of these two giants has lead to this - Qualcomm Snapdragom 835. The chip will be built on 10nm (that's nanometer) Samsung FinFET Tech. Talking about the FinFET technology used in this new chip, Keith Kressin, Senior Vice President (Products Manager), Qualcomm, said that this 10nm technology will allow the chipset to deliver faster processing and great power efficiency.
Efficiency is actually the common word these days, so let's jump to the numbers straight away. All the statistics below are in comparison with the Snapdragon 820 (which by means is already hell powerful too!)
- 30% higher in Efficiency
- 27% higher in Performance
- 40% reduction in Power Consumption
But even if that doesn't excite you much, here's the king "Quick Charge v4". Yes, Snapdragon 835 is going to club it and with the help of this latest breakthrough in charging technology, the charging speeds have been incremented by 20% as compared to what Quick Charge v3 was capable of charging at. Qualcomm claims that they have tested this internally on a 2750mAh battery which is an acceptable standard battery size.
Well, the new chips are getting better and better, the devices which we have been calling beasts till now must be feeling naive when we get to see this chip in the upcoming device like the Samsung Galaxy S8, words are out, gave you guys a teaser! 😉 Happy Reading.
