The first Google Tango phone, Lenovo PHAB 2 Pro now available in the U.S

The world's first Tango-enabled smartphone Lenovo PHAB 2 Pro is now available for buying. The PHAB 2 Pro is available for purchase from Lenovo online store in the U.S for $499.99 (Rs. 34,000) and will ship within 4-5 weeks. Availability in other markets is not known yet.

Initially introduced at Lenovo's Tech World 2016 event back in June 2016 in partnership with Google, the 6.4-inch smartphone comes with Google's Tango depth sensing 3D camera system. It has three imaging sensors: 16MP main RGB camera, a time of flight (TOF) camera that senses depth of field and a fisheye IR sensor for that can sense motion. It also has 8MP front camera.

Using these cameras, users can scan the world around them to turn the environment into an augmented reality setup. This can be utilized in many ways like playing AR games, or use the 3D mapping for recreational or educational purchases. To experience AR on PHAB 2 Pro, users will have to look through their phone and they'll see objects and information overlaid onto the real world.

Google also announced the availability of over 35 Tango apps, ready for the PHAB 2 Pro as well. These include:

• Visualize how furniture and appliances will look in your home with WayfairView, Lowe’s Vision, Homestyler Interior Design, and iStaging.
• Domino World – To Play dominoes
• Crayola Color Blaster – To Paint and draw on all the surfaces
• Sling projectiles to battle a terrible dragon with Slingshot Island.
• Play with virtual pets with Raise.
• Learn about things that are hard to see with Solar Simulator and Dinosaurs Among Us.
• Build new digital worlds with Woorld and Towers for Tango.
• Race on your own personal race tracks with Hot Wheel’s Track Builder, Wild Wild Race and Car Racing.
• Customize your videos with exciting 3D filters with Spectra.
