UMi Plus E, a $199 phone with Helio P20 chip, 6GB RAM and 4000mAh battery
Chinese smartphone maker UMi has introduced Plus E smartphone that boasts powerful specs at a reasonable price tag. The company claims it to be the world's first Helio P20-powered smartphone.
For those unaware, MediaTek's Helio P20 is the successor of P10, which was used in most of the popular budget smartphones this year. It is a octa-core chip with 8 x A53 CPU cores clocked at 2.3GHz paired with Mali T880 GPU, and consumes 20 percent less power than Helio P10.
Moreover, it packs 6GB RAM and a beefy 4000mAh battery, rated to deliver two days of battery life on normal usage. The battery is backed by Quick Charge technology, which promises a full day of use with just 30 minute charge.
Other features include metal unibody design (made from 6000 Series aluminum), fingerprint scanner (embedded into the home button) 5.5-inch Full HD display and 64GB internal storage, which can be expanded via microSD card up to 128GB.
There's 13MP rear camera with dual LED flash, Samsung 3L8 sensor and PDAF. The selfie camera is a 5MP unit. It runs Android 6.0 Marshmallow and in terms of connectivity includes hybrid dual-SIM slots, 4G LTE, WiFi, Bluetooth and USB Type-C.
The UMi Plus E is priced at $199.99 (13,500) during pre-sale period, making it the most affordable smartphone packing 6GB RAM. It can be pre-ordered from the company website, and shipping begins December 10.
