vivo X9, X9 Plus to arrive on November 17 with dual-front facing cameras

Back in June 2016, vivo introduced the selfie cenrtic X7 and X7 Plus smartphone featuring 16MP front camera soft LED flash and f/2.0 aperture. Now the Chinese smartphone maker is all set to introduce its successor X9 and X9 Plus, which will also be a selfie-centric smartphone, but a step further.

vivo has confirmed that the X9 and X9 Plus will have a dual-camera setup, but on the front and not at the back, which will be a treat for selfie lovers. The dual front camera will be a 20MP unit and 8MP unit and is rumored to employ Sony Exmor sensors.

There are not many smartphones in the market with dual front facing cameras. Lenovo was the first company to bring dual-front cameras with the S1, that had 8MP main camera to capture normal photos, and 2MP secondary camera to analyze depth of field. There's also LG's V10 with dual 5MP front facing camera as well.

Coming back to X9/X9 Plus, the phones are rumored to feature 5.5-inc and 6-inch 1080p display, 4GB/6GB RAM, Snapdragon 653 processor, fingerprint scanner and USB Type-C.

vivo is expected to officially unveil the X9 and X9 Plus at an event in China on November 17.
