Facebook Messenger Brings In Categorized Home Tab

Facebook Messenger, which has been receiving only functionality changes since the past few updates, now has some interface changes. We are talking about the Home tab, which now has 3 categorised sliders, which are Favorites, Active Now and Birthdays.

As you can notice in the above image (pix-elated content for privacy concerns) the Home tab now has some big changes. After the 3 most recent chats, we have:

Favourites Slider
As the name suggests, this slider will show the contacts you mostly chat with, and shows the list for the contacts which can be swiped into. This comes in handy and reduces the move to go to chat list tab.

Active Now
Well, not any subject to introduction but yeah it again cuts some of your thumb moves and shows all the active users straight at your home tab. The team did a great job there, it's an overall impressive implementation.

Birthdays
A clever and life saver move for all the people who have a habit of forgetting (Uh, Oh!) the birthdays of their close ones. This category will show the status of the people who have their birthday on the date! Well, now you can thank Facebook.

This comes in as a server side update but it's rolling out vastly. In case this interface hasn't been injected into your messenger, no need to worry, it will be appearing soon.
