Play Store Gets Into Rollout Cum Rollback Situation
We did tell you in the morning that Play Store has been looking odd from the color shade perspective here and seems like blog walls have ears reaching to Google! We have got another server side update today, which is not such a Googlish thing and we are pleased to tell you that all the color shades have been matched now, which makes it look way better than before, covered for you in the image below for the comparison. This is what the rollout is about, we tested and found that this new interface is now live to Marshmallow, Lollipop and Jellybean versions also.
Image on the right is the from the first rollout we had today, which has irregular color scheme and this is what we mentioned as odd in the morning post. Correcting this, the image on the left is from the update we got just an hour ago, which looks way better and more complete. All the text, buttons and badges are now of darker matte finish.
Now, you must be wondering what's the rollback all about and it's kind of sad to say that Card Slider has been removed with effect from the evening update. Yes, it has been rolled back! It is indeed a shocker for us too that Google firstly rolled out 2 server side updates on the same day and lastly, the much effecient and unique card slider has been removed now. We don't know why did this happen but we do hope for Card Slider to make an appearance again.
What has led us to believe that there's more in store for the Play Store in terms of updates is the Hamburger Menu. This menu still has that old bright green color. Consider the 'Apps & games' font color for reference.
With these confused set of server side updates, it's hard to say what Google has been planning. We would like to hear from you guys. Comment down below as to what do you think Play Store should look like.
Google, we hope you're listening us through the blog walls!
