Android 7.1.2 public beta rolling out to compatible Nexus and Pixel devices

Google has rolled out public beta of Android 7.1.2 Nougat to eligible Nexus and Pixel devices enrolled in Android Beta Program. Android 7.1.2 will be an incremental update focused on refinements, and includes bug fixes, optimization as well as few enhancements for users.

Devices eligible for Android 7.1.2 update include Pixel, Pixel XL, Nexus 5X, Nexus Player and Pixel C tablet. As for the Nexus 6P, the company is preparing an update that will be released soon.

Unfortunately, the Nexus 6 smartphone and Nexus 9 tablet will be left out and will stay on Android 7.1.1. This means the devices will not get any future software updates, however, they will continue to receive security patches for about a year.

To get Android 7.1.2, you should either be enrolled in Android Beta Program to receive the update over-the-air, or can download the update manually and then flash it to your Nexus or Pixel device.

Google said that it plans to roll out Android 7.1.2 final build to the public in couple of months.
