Android Nougat release roadmap for Huawei devices surface

Huawei's Mate 9 series and P8 lite 2017 shipped with Android Nougat based EMUI 5.0, while Huawei rolled out the same to P9, P9 Plus and Mate 8. Now the company's roadmap for releasing EMUI 5.0 to current smartphones has surfaced.

According to the roadmap, Huawei's Honor 6X, Honor Note 8, Huawei Nova and Huawei G9 Plus are next in line to get Nougat based EMUI 5.0 through the course of this year.

Huawei Nova will be next to get Nougat in March, followed by Honor Note 8 and Huawei G9 Plus in April. The Honor 6X and MediaPad M3 tablet will be updated to Nougat sometime in May.

EMUI 5.0 brings new features and improvements including a redesigned interface with new notification shade, recent app layout, new app drawer and more. Moreover users can activate most of the main functions of the devices with just two or three clicks. There's also an integrated machine learning feature that wil track the app usage patterns and enhance functionality, which will improve performance as well as battery life of the device.
