Garmin Fenix 5, Fenix 5S, Fenix 5X multi-sport GPS watches announced
Wearable device maker Garmin at CES 2017, announced the Fenix 5 series of multi-sport GPS watches ― Fenix 5, Fenix 5S and Fenix 5X aimed at outdoor enthusiasts like runners, cyclists, swimmers, golfers and hikers. These watch includes Garmin's Elevate wrist heart rate technology that measures heart rate at wrist continuously, and can track activities like calories burned, steps taken, sleep patterns and more.
The Fenix 5 is a 47mm watch and is rated to withstand 100-metre deep water. It features 3-axis compass as well as gyroscope and barometric altimeter. Also on-board is GPS and GLONASS for tracking capabilities. It promises two weeks of battery life in smartwatch mode and 24 hours in GPS mode.
The Fenix 5S is a 42mm watch designed for females and includes the same features as Fenix 5, but promises battery life of eight days in smartwatch mode and 13 hours in GPS mode.
The Fenix 5X is a 51mm watch with advanced mapping capabilities. It can deliver 12 of battery life in smartwatch mode and 20 hours in GPS mode. Other features are same as Fenix 5.
The Garmin Fenix 5 and Fenix 5S are priced at $600 each (Rs. 40,270), while the Fenix 5X and Sapphire version of 5, 5S are priced at $700 (Rs. 47,500). They will be available sometime in Q1, 2017.
