Moto G2 Is Now Running On August 2016 Security Patch, You Saw It, 2016!

It's way awkward, but it is the way it is. We are talking about Moto G2, which still is a good phone for moderate usage and running Marshmallow but, here's the catch! August 2016 Security Patch rolled out for the same yesterday. It is indeed shocking but we have confirmed from sources and yes, it is happening.

 

Above shots comes directly from our sources' device. The update is a small one weighing 45.1MB and is now seeding over to all Moto G2 devices in India, you can find the release notes here. It is weird to see the update coming this late but better late than never, it might be an indication that more security updates are on the way for the device but only after Moto G3 gets to the newest security date. It is worth mentioning that the newest member of the G Family, Moto G4 has received the December Security Patch last week only so the wait can go longer for the older devices.
