Nokia 6 gone in 60 seconds on launch day

Nokia finally made a comeback to the smartphone market with the Nokia 6. The pre-order for the smartphone opened on January 11 via JD.com in China, and ahead of the first flash sale, it received over a million registration.

Now according to Chinese news agency Anzhuo, all the units of Nokia 6 that were up for grabs during the flash sale went out of stock in just a minute. This is no surprise at all. However, the exact number of units sold is not known. A second flash sale will take place in the coming days.

To refresh, the Nokia 6 features 5.5-inch Full HD 2.5D curved glass display, octa-core Snapdragon 430 chip, 4GB RAM, 64GB storage, 16MP/8MP camera, fingerprint scanner and 3000mAh battery. It runs Android Nougat and carries a price tag of CNY 1699 ($245 | Rs. 17,000).

The Nokia 6 is currently available only in China, and it's not clear whether it will have a global release.

HMD Global is the company that has exclusive rights to market and distribute Nokai devices. It has confirmed that it will be launching more Nokia devices on February 26 at MWC 2017 in Barcelona.
