You Can Now Download ADB, Fastboot Binaries Separately Without Downloading Android Studio Or The Android SDK
If you are one of those who love to modify their Android device to their liking, then you definitely must have used ADB or Fastboot.
You can use ADB to flash OTA updates manually, unlock your device's bootloader or to flash a custom recovery. The ADB binaries and platform tools which are necessary for performing these tasks weigh less than 5MB. However, in order to grab the required ADB binaries and tools required to perform the aforementioned tasks, one had to either download the entire Android SDK weighing about 450MB or grab the 1.6GB Android Studio or be reliant upon unverified and untrusted sources to grab the required tools in the form of a small 3-4MB package.
Courtesy to some noble souls at Google, this isn't going to be the case anymore. Google has now made the essential ADB, fastboot and platform tools available separately for Windows, Mac and Linux. This thus means that you no longer need to download the entire Android SDK or Android Studio just for those essential 3-4MB files.
These files are available on Google's own servers in the form of a ZIP archive. As these files are hosted by Google, we certainly expect them to be kept up to date even as Google upgrades both Android SDK and Android Studio.
From the links given below, you can download the required packages as per the platform you are using.
