Android Nougat Rolling Out To The Nvidia Shield Tablet
Nvidia's Shield Tablet K1 is already a great deal, with the device bringing reasonable specifications at a very low price point of just around $200. Now, the Californian company is going a step futher by updating the tablet to the latest iteration of Google's mobile OS - Android Nougat, making it even better than it already is.
The Nougat update comes together with Nvidia's 5.0 software upgrade, the main new feature of which is the support for the Nvidia Shield TV controller. Apart from this, we can expect all the goodies from Android Nougat like the new split-screen mode and quick switch feature, improved battery life thanks to Doze On The Go, a much-improved notifications shade with inline replies and notification bundling, various UI customisations including a quick settings edit mode and a DPI changer and many more cool new options. Additionally, the tablet will now support the Nvidia Shield Rewards Program.
All Nvidia Shield Tablets will be updated to Android Nougat in the next few weeks, meaning that Nvidia will be on par with most other major OEMs in terms of update speeds.
To all the Shield Tablet owners out there, are you excited for the new update? Let us know in the comments down below.
