Google Has NOT Stopped The Production Of Pixel
Some alarming reports which had emerged earlier today suggested that Google had ceased the production of the Pixel and Pixel XL. The false reports were sparked off by an email from Canadian carrier Telus to their customers who had pre-ordered the Google Pixel XL.
In the email Talus stated that they won't be able to process the orders of the Google Pixel and the Google Pixel XL because Google had stopped the production of the smartphones. The very fact that the Pixel and Pixel XL have been repeatedly stocked out makes the claims of this email sound bogus. The repeated selling out of the phones clearly shows that there are a lot of people who are interested in owning a Google branded smartphone and Google is

Several Redditors reported of having received the same email. The news was surprisingly picked up by a publication as well. All this fuelled up the wild fire of false claims.
In an attempt to make sense out of the affairs, 9to5Google reached out to Google for a statement. Google trashed all the false claims through the statement it issued to 9to5Google. The statement read as follows.
It is thus clear now that the Pixel smartphones are still in production, although it's still driving me nuts as to why did Telus send out that email. Whatever the case may be, the Pixel is here to stay, at least till the Pixel 2, I guess.

We’re really excited by the demand for the Pixel XL in Canada. Telus is currently out of stock of the Pixel XL. We’re working with our partners to restock inventory across our retail channels and we can confirm that production of the Pixel has not stopped.
