Honor 6X to get Android Nougat next month
The Honor 6X, Huawei's mid-range smartphone with dual rear cameras was launched last month and shipped with Android Marshmallow, with company's own EMUI 4.1. Now Honor has confirmed that it will upgrade the smartphone to Android 7.0 Nougat with EMUI 5.0 next month.
The company had earlier promised that Nougat would be available in Q2, 2017, but now Honor in a statement to Android Police mentioned that Nougat update will arrive in the U.S earlier than expected. The Nougat roll out would be in stages, and US will get it first followed by other markets.
The new EMUI for Honor 6X will be arriving next month, and it’s been updated based on consumer feedback. In case you or your team is planning a full review any time soon, it might be worthwhile to wait!
The Honor 6X features 5.5-inch Full HD IPS display with 2.5D curved glass protection. It is powered by Kirin 655 processor and comes with dual 12MP+2MP rear camera, and 8MP front camera. It supports 4G VoLTE and is backed by 3340mAh battery.
