Honor V9 with dual cameras, Android Nougat announced
Huawei sub-brand Honor has officially announced the Honor V9 smartphone in home market of China. It is the successor of Honor V8, which was launched back in May last year and also sports dual cameras on the back, metal body and rear-mounted fingerprint scanner.
The Honor V9 features 5.7-inch QHD (2560 x 1440 display) and is powered by octa-core Kirin 960 processor, the same processor utilized by Huawei Mate 9. It comes in multiple variants with options of 4GB & 6GB RAM and 64GB & 128GB storage.
For photography, there's 12MP dual camera with f/2.2 aperture, which according to Honor, are capable of capturing great images in low-light condition and offer images with bokeh effect, thanks to the improved black and white sensor which takes up to 3 times more light. It is also capable of capturing 3D creative photos, which can be used to make 3D prints.
Other features include 8MP front camera, hybrid dual-SIM slots, 4G LTE, WiFi 802.11ac, NFC and USB Type-C port. Software-wise it runs Android Nougat with Huawei Emotion UI (EMUI) 5.0 skin on top. A 4000mAh battery gives the device juice to keep the lights on.
Honor will offer the Honor V9 in three variants ― 4GB RAM/64GB storage priced at CNY 2599 ($377 | Rs. 25,300), 6GB RAM/64GB storage at CNY 2999 ($436 | Rs. 29,100) and the expensive 6GB RAM/128GB storage variant with a price tag of CNY 3499 ($508 | Rs. 34,000). The Honor V9 will go on sale in China on February 28.
The Honor V9 is expected to be launched globally at MWC as Honor 8 Pro.
