Metal-clad Meizu m5s with 5.2-inch display, 3000mAh battery announced
Meizu has introduced a new budget smartphone dubbed m5s in its home market of China. It sports an all-metal body, runs Android Marshmallow based FlyMe OS 6.0 and includes a fingerprint sensor embedded into the home button.
The Meizu m5s features 5.2-inch HD (1280 x 720 pixels) 2.5D curved glass display and is powered by 1.3GHz octa-core MediaTek MT6753 processor coupled with Mali-T760 GPU and 3GB RAM. Meizu will offer the m5s in two storage options - 16GB and 32GB - and the storage is expandable as well.
For photography, it gets 13MP f/2.2 rear camera with dual-tone LED flash, Sony sensor and PDAF. On the front there's 5MP camera for snapping selfies and video calling.
Connectivity options include hybrid dual-SIM slots, 4G VoLTE, WiFi 802.11 a/b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.0 and GPS/GLONASS. A 3000mAh battery backed by fast charging runs the show. Meizu claims that the phone's fast charging capability will let you charge the device's battery up to 56 percent in just over half and hour.
The Meizu m5s is priced at CNY 799 ($116 | Rs. 8,000) for the 16GB version, while the 32GB version will set you back by CNY 999 ($145 | Rs. 10,000). It will go on sale in China starting February 20 in Rose Gold, Moonlight Silver, Champagne Gold and Star Gray colors.
