Nexus 6P finally gets Android 7.1.2 beta, but without fingerprint gestures

Google rolled out public beta of Android 7.1.2 to Pixel, Pixel Xl, Nexus 5X, Nexus Player and Pixel C tablet last month (January 31), with the exception of Nexus 6P, which was due to be released soon.

Now the Nexus 6P devices enrolled for the beta program has started receiving Android 7.1.2 beta. The OTA update size is 1.29GB, and the build is still on January security patch. The factory images are yet to go live.

The Android 7.1.2 was an incremental update focused on refinements including bug fixes, optimizations as well as few enhancement. But it also included two hidden features for the Nexus 5X ― fingerprint gestures support and the option to choose where to set the live wallpaper (home screen or home screen/lock screen). Unfortunately, Android 7.1.2 for Nexus 6P does not add fingerprint gesture support.

The Android Nougat 7.1.2 final stable build will be released to Pixel, Pixel XL, Nexus 5X and Nexus 6P in the coming months.
