YouTube Enables Quick Seek Gestures To Skip 10, 20,30... Seconds Of Video Time

A few days ago several users had claimed that  they were able to use the double tap gesture in YouTube's Android application to forward/rewind videos by ten seconds. This was a server side update since several users had reported that even though they were on the latest version of the YouTube app, they were not able to use any such functionality.

This feature has now gone live for all the users. A recent update to YouTube's application ensured the same. The changelog of the app on Play Store noted the same.

Apart from the double tap gesture which allows users to jump ten seconds forward/backward, we also have other quick seek gestures which will allow users to even jump twenty seconds of video time. Each double tap after the first one will subsequently jump ten more things. So, four taps will jump twenty seconds, six taps will jump thirty seconds and so on. The video below summarises the same.
