Apple iPhone 8 will reportedly have OLED curved screen, USB-C instead of Lightning Connector
Apple ditched the traditional lighting connector in favor of USB Type-C port on the last year's MacBook Pro. Now it appears, that Apple will do the the same with the next iPhone. According to a report from Wall Street Journal, Apple will replace the lighting connector on the iPhone 8 with a USB Type-C port. The report reiterating recent rumors also mentions that the new iPhone will sport curved OLED screen.
Apple is reportedly ditching its own proprietary port on the upcoming iPhone in favor of industry standard USB Type-C port, which is now becoming a trend on all smartphones.
Apple is rumored to launch three iPhones this year - iPhone 7s and iPhone 7s Plus, along with iPhone 8 with premium looks and new design.
The report also suggests that iPhone 8 will feature a large curved display, just like the Galaxy S7 edge, while the iPhone 7s and 7s Plus will retain the standard LCD displays. Samsung's edge series has been very popular outselling the flat-screened Galaxy S series models. Samsung this year is expected to ditch the flat screen model, and use curved display on Both Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8+.
Coming back to Apple land, the company is also said to ditch the home button in favor of a new touchscreen function area on iPhone 8. Previous rumors have suggested that the iPhone will cost around $1000, making it the most expensive iPhone ever. Rumors also claim that iPhone 8 will have iris scanner, wireless charging and glass design. All this is changes in the iPhone 8 is to mark the 10 year anniversary of the iPhone.
