MSI Trident 3 is a consoled-sized VR ready gaming PC
MSI is upgrading its last year's console-sized VR-ready Trident gaming PC with a new model called Trident 3. The new model has the same console sized design, but comes with Kaby Lake CPU instead of Sky Lake.
The MSI Trident 3 is powered by Intel's 7th gen Kaby Lake CPU with the choice of Core i5-7400 or Core i7-7700 processor with up to 16GB RAM, 1TB HDD, up to 256GB M.2 SSD and NVIDIA's GeForce GTX 1060 6GB GDDR5 graphics card.
On the front the Trident 3 has 1 x USB 3.1 Gen 1 Type-C port, 2 x USB 3.1 Gen 1 Type-A ports, a VR-Link (HDMI out), a earphone and microphone jack. On the back there's a USB 3.1 Gen 1 Type-A port, 4 x USB 2.0 Type-A ports, an HDMI port, a DC jack, a RJ45 LAN and a VR-Link (connect front VR-Link and graphic card). For wireless connectivity there's WiFi and Bluetooth.
It has Silent storming cooling 2 to keep the system cool while playing high-graphic games and sports RGB Mystic light, which can be changed using the Mystic Light App or MSI's Gaming Center software.
The Trident 3 (Black case) base model with Core i5-7400/8GB RAM/1TB HDD) is priced at $900, the Core i7-7700/8GB RAM/128GB SDD+1TB HDD model is priced at $1100, and the top end model with Core i7-7700/16GB RAM/256GB SSD+1TB HDD will set you back by $1300. It is available in the U.S through Amazon, B&H, Newegg and Walmart.
There's also a limited edition Trident 3 model called Trident 3 Arctic. It features Intel Core i7-7700 quad-core processor, NVIDIA's GeForce GTX 1070 graphics card, 16GB RAM, 1TB HDD and 256GB M.2 SSD. The rest of the configuration is same as Trident 3. It will be available in April for $1500.
