Nokia rumored to launch two Snapdragon 835 powered flagship in June
Nokia re-entered the smartphone market with three budget Android smartphone, namely the Nokia 3, Nokia 5 and Nokia 6. These were just budget smartphones boasting mid-range specs, however, the real deal is the company's top-end flagship device, which has been rumored for quite some time.
Now according to a report coming out of China, Nokia is expected to launch two high-end phones in June this year with top-notch specs.
The report says that Nokia's high-end phones will sport a unibody metal design and come in two different screen sizes. It appears that Nokia is following the footsteps of Apple, Google and Samsung, with a standard and plus model.
The Nokia flagships will feature Qualcomm's Snapdragon 835 processor with 4GB RAM or 6GB RAM options. One of these phones will sport dual-rear camera with 2 x 23MP units, while the other will have a single rear cameras. Unfortunately, the phones will not sport Carl Zeiss camera technology, which was used on Nokia's Windows Phone, and popular Symbian based phones. Nokia also confirmed that it's no longer in partnership with Carl Zeiss.
Nokia's flagship will most likely run Android Nougat, and the smaller variant will be priced at CNY 4000 ($579 | Rs. 38,600), while the larger screen version is expected to cost CNY 4500 ($650 | Rs. 43,500).
This is not the first time Nokia will release a top-end flagship phone with powerful hardware, as the company, when under Microsoft, launched a couple of Windows Phone based flagship device, the last being Lumia 930.
Do note that there is no way to confirm the authenticity of the report, so a pinch of salt is advised.
