[OTA Links Added] OnePlus Is Rolling Out OxygenOS 3.5.8 For OnePlus 2 And It's Not Nougat
OnePlus has announced the commencement of the OxygenOS 3.5.8 update rollout for the OnePlus 2. The incremental update bumps up the security patch level to that of March 1, 2017 and also addresses some network drop issues. The latter issue had been reported in OxygenOS 3.5.6 too, but was then fixed in OxygenOS 3.5.7. It appears as if the network drop issue hadn't been addressed completely until now.
The changes introduced by the update over the last official update of OxygenOS 3.5.7 are as follows:
- Updated Google security patch to 1st March 2017
- Fixed echo issue during video calls in Duo App
- Fixed persistent network drop issues
- Fixed data roaming issue in certain countries
- Improved audio compatibility
- General bug fixes
It is still disappointing to see that the 2016 flagship killer hasn't been treated to Nougat. OnePlus hasn't even mentioned whether it will be updating the almost two-year old device to Nougat or not. OnePlus 2's successors, the OnePlus 3 & 3T, had been upgraded to Nougat in December last year.
Since the update is being rolled out in batches, an OTA notification of the update might take some time to reach you. If you don't wish to wait for the update notification, you can flash the update manually using theb links given below. If you wish to install these updates manually, you need to have the knowledge of flashing updates using ADB.
