Possible Moto E4/E4 Power with 4000mAh battery clears FCC
Now that Motorola's budget Moto G5 and G5 Plus have hit the market and are selling well, its time for the company to move on to the more affordable segment, the Moto E.
The Moto E has been a successful phone for Motorola especially in markets like India, Brazil, Mexico and U.S. The first Moto E phone was launched back in 2014, followed by Moto E2 and Moto E3 in 2015 and 2016 respectively. Now it appears that, Motorola is all set to launch the 4th generation of Moto E — the Moto E (2017) or Moto E4 soon.
A Motorola phone carrying model number XT1723 has passed the US Federal Communication Commision (FCC), and is reportedly being called Moto E4. The listing reveals that Moto E4 will feature 16GB storage and pack 4000mAh battery. Unfortunately nothing else is know about the phone.
It's worth mentioning that last year, Motorola launched two Moto E3 phones, one the regular Moto E3, and the other the battery-centric Moto E3 Power with 3500mAh battery. So the device in question that passed FCC could be Moto E4 Power, as it also carries a beefy battery capacity.
The Moto E series is targeted at the sub Rs. 7,000 ($100) price market, so the new Moto phone will most likely be priced cheaper. As of now it is now known when Motorola plans to launch the phone. But we can expect it to appear on various bench-marking websites in the coming weeks, ahead of the launch and reveal some more details.
