Acer unveils new Aspire series notebooks
Acer at its global press conference in New York unveiled new Aspire series notebooks — Aspire 1, Aspire 3, Aspire 5 and Aspire 7. Running Windows 10, the Aspire 1, 3 and 5 are budget notebooks, while the Aspire 7 is the most powerful model of the lot, offering top-of-the line specs.
The new Aspire notebooks sports 180 degree hinge, so that it rests 180-degree flat on your work surface and features Acer's Bluelight screen technology, which reduces exposure to blue light, to help reduce eye strain. They also offer Acer True Harmony, to deliver lifelike audio for making video conference calls and watching videos.
Acer Aspire 1
The Aspire 1 has been crafted for users, who are looking for a notebook for everyday tasks like web-browsing, or as a secondary device. It comes with 14-inch HD display, Intel Celeron or Pentium processor, 4GB DDR3L RAM and 32GB or 64GB eMMC storage. Other specs include 2 x USB 2.0 ports, a USB 3.0 port, HDMI port, Ethernet, WiFi 802.11ac, VGA webcam and up to nine hours of battery life. It weighs 1.65kg and Acer is offering one-year subscription of office 365 Pesonal1 and 1TB OneDrive storage.
The Acer Aspire 1 series will be available in North America in June starting at $219; and in EMEA in June starting at €249.
Acer Aspire 3
The Aspire 3 is a bumped up variant of Aspire 1 offering extra power and performance for more intensive media consumption needs. It will be offered in three models: 14-inch HD, 15.6-inch HD or 15.6-inch Full Display, with either Intel Core (7th gen i3 or i5), Celeron or Pentium processor with up to 12GB RAM. It will be offered in multiple storage options as well packing 128GB/256GB SSD, 500GB/1TB/2TB HDD or 32GB/64GB eMMC.
The Acer Aspire 3 series will be available in North America in June starting at $299; in EMEA in June starting at €399; and in China in April starting at ¥2,799.
Acer Aspire 5
The Aspire 5 is designed to match "more demanding user requirements" as a dependable workhorse for creating and sharing. It features 15.6-inch screen with IPS panel with the option of HD or Full HD display and is powered by up to 7th gen Intel Core processors mated with NVIDIA GeForce 940MX graphics and up to 20GB DDR4 RAM. Storge wise, there are a range of options to choose from with HDDs up to 2TB and M.2 SSDs up to 256GB. For connecting peripherals, there's a USB 3.1 Type-C Gen 1 port, USB 3.0 port and 2 x USB 2.0 ports.
The Acer Aspire 5 series will be available in North America in June starting at $449; in EMEA in June starting at €549; and in China in April starting at ¥3,999.
Acer Aspire 7
The Aspire 7 is designed for professionals who needs powerful performance to match their professional ambitions. It comes with 15- or 17-inch screen with HD and Full HD display options, and is powered by up to 7th gen Intel Core i7 processor. It packs up to NVIDIA GeFore GTX 1060 graphics card, up to 32GB DDR4 RAM, up to 2TB HDD and up to 512GB M.2 SSD. The notebooks also come with Dolby Audio Premium, HD camera w/ HDR, 2x2 MIMO 802.11ac WiFi and Gigabit Ethernet.
The Acer Aspire 7 series will be available in North America in June starting at $799; in EMEA in July starting at €899; and in China in May starting at ¥5,999. It's worth mentioning that exact specifications, prices and availability will vary by region.
