Google Pixel, Pixel XL to get Wi-Fi calling feature on Reliance Jio network
Google will soon add support for WiFi calling for the Pixel and Pixel XL smartphone. Using WiFI calling you'll be able to make or receive calls and texts over a WiFi network when cellular network is spotty or not available on your Pixel phones.
The Pixel and Pixel XL will get WiFi calling support when the next Android 7.1.2 update will be out. However, this feature will only be available for users on Reliance Jio network, which also offers VoLTE services as well.
The WiFi calling feature will come in handy where there is limited connectivity or no mobile network coverage. However, you'll require a stable WiFi connection for the best possible audio.
Besides Pixel phones, WiFi calling feature is also available in Samsung's Galaxy S7 and S7 edge, but it is yet to be enabled by any telecom provider in the country.
