Lenovo Flex 11 convertible Chromebook announced
Lenovo has introduced the first Chromebook of the Flex series, called Flex 11 Chromebook. It sports a convertible design, sporting a 360-degree hinge that lets you flip the display backwards, for using it like a tablet.
Like most of the Chromebooks, the Flex 11 is also tough enough to withstand daily abuse, as it can withstand falls up to 75cm (2.4 feet). Its ports are reinforced and its touchpad is sealed to protect against accidental spills. The keyboard is water resistant and can handle up to 330 ml – about 1 cup – of liquid without damage, thanks to the internal channels beneath the keyboard to divert liquid away
Coming to the technical part, the Lenovo Flex 11 Chromebook features 11.6-inch 1366 x 768 pixel IPS touch display and is powered by 2.1GHz quad-core ARM based processor with 4GB RAM and 32GB storage. There's also an HD webcam for video chats.
It runs Google's Chrome OS, and Lenovo says that it will support Android apps and Google Play store, but not out of the box, instead, an upcoming software update will enable it.
For connectivity there's USB 3.0, USB Type-C port, HDMI, microSD card slot, mic/audio jack, WiFi 802.11ac and Bluetooth. It promises up to 10 hours of battery life, and weighs 1.3kg.
The Lenovo Flex 11 Chromebook is priced at $279 and will be available in the U.S later this month.
