Matte Black vivo V5 Plus IPL Edition announced

Black is the flavor of the season. After Apple (iPhone 7), Samsung (Galaxy S7/S8) Xiaomi (Redmi Note 4) and OnePlus (OnePlus 3T), Chinese device maker vivo is latest to come out with a phone painted in black color. 

To commemorate the 10th anniversary of Indian Premier League (IPL), official sponsor vivo has introduced a new special edition of the dual-selfie camera toting V5 Plus. The new vivo V5 Plus IPL Limited edition is basically the V5 Plus, but comes in a new matte black hue with "vivo IPL" logo etched on the back. It also comes pre-loaded with IPL-related app to let you keep track of the schedule, score and the event on the go.

The phone will be available starting April 10  at retail stores and vivo exclusive stores, and online through Flipkart. The pricing is yet to be revealed.

To refresh, the vivo V5 Plus is a selfie centric smartphone boasting dual 20MP Sony IMX376 f/2.0 sensor + 8MP secondary cameras for depth sensing with an LED flash. The main camera is a 16MP unit with f/2.0 aperture, PDAF and LED flash. It can also record 4K videos as well.

Other specifications include 5.5-inch Full HD display, Snapdragon 625 processor, 4GB RAM, 64GB storage, 4G LTE, fingerprint scanner and 3500mAh battery. It runs Android Marshmallow based Funtouch OS 3.0 out of the box.

The regular version of vivo V5 Plus sells for Rs. 27,980.
