While the Moto G5 Plus started at Rs. 14,999, the new Moto G5 costs Rs. 3,000 less at Rs. 11,999. Reduction in price means the specs have been toned down, but you do get the fingerprint scanner. However it gets one one feature that was missing in Moto G5 Plus. The back cover and battery of the Moto G5 is removable which is one of the rare feature in smartphones now a days.
The metal-clad Moto G5 has 5-inch Full HD display with Corning Gorilla Glass 3 protection, Snapdragon 430 processor, 3GB RAM and 16GB storage and 2800mAh battery.
For photography, the Moto G5 rocks 13MP rear camera with LED flash, PDAF, f/2.0 and 1080p video recording. Selfie lovers will get a 5MP front facing camera with OmniVision OV5693 sensor and f/2.2 aperture.
The phone will boot Android Nougat and come with microSD card slot, dual-SIM slots, 4G VoLTE, WiFi 802.11 b/g/n and Bluetooth 4.2.
The Moto G5 Plus was Flipkart exclusive, but the Moto G5 will be available exclusively on Amazon India starting today midnight.
