OnePlus Has Started Rolling Out OxygenOS 4.1.3 For The OnePlus 3/3T, With A Similar Changelog As That Of OOS 4.1.1
We had reported yesterday about some OnePlus 3/3T owners getting an update notification for OxygenOS (OOS) 4.1.2. It was therefore evident that an official announcement of a new OTA update was just around the corner. OnePlus has announced the commencement of the Nougat 7.1.1 based OxygenOS 4.1.3 for the OnePlus 3 & 3T.
The peculiar thing about the OOS 4.1.2 update was that it had the same changelog as that of OOS 4.1.1. We had suspected yesterday that the 4.1.2 update primarily focused on bug fixing. To our utmost surprise, even OOS 4.1.3 has a similar changelog to that of OOS 4.1.1 & 4.1.2. The "official" changelog is as follows:
- Upgraded Android 7.1.1
- Added expanded screenshots
- Improved picture taking of moving objects with blur reduction
- Improved video stability when recording
- Improved WiFI connectivity
- Improved bluetooth connectivity
- Fixed Instagram swiping bug
- Fixed hardware buttons malfunction bug
- Increased system stability
- General bug fixes
The update weighs a mere 30MB, exactly similar to the size of OOS 4.1.2 update. The security patch level of the 4.1.3 update is March 1, 2017. Both OOS 4.1.1 & 4.1.2 had the same patch level as well. Therefore we suspect that OnePlus has rolled back the OOS 4.1.2 update for some unknown reasons and has started rolling out the stable OOS 4.1.3 instead.
Since this is a phased rollout, the OTA update might take a while to reach you. Several users have reported on the OnePlus forums that they were able to obtain the OTA update instantly when they set their location to Canada or Germany in OperaVPN. We will update this thread as soon as we have the OTA and the firmware links.
