Refurbished Galaxy Note 7 will reportedly go on sale in South Korea in June

Last month, Samsung confirmed its plans to sell refurbished Galaxy Note7, and now we get to know when and where it will go on sale, along with pricing details. According to ET New, the refurbished Galaxy Note7 will be available in South Korea through three carriers by the end of June.

Samsung is still negotiating the branding and pricing, but the publication has reason to believe, that the refurbished Galaxy Note7 will be called Galaxy Note7R (SM-N935), and is expected to be priced at KRW 700,000 ($620 | Rs. 40,000), which is approximately KRW 300,000 ($266) cheaper than the orginal Galaxy Note7, which was priced at KRW 989,890 ($878 | Rs. 56,000), when it hit the market back in September.

The report further states that around 300,000 units Galaxy Note7R, out of the four million Galaxy Note7 recalled will be available for sale. The refurbished model is expected to pack a smaller 3200mAh battery, as compared to 3500mAh battery found on the defected Galaxy Note7.

It is still not clear, which other markets, apart from South Korea, Samsung plans to sell Galaxy Note7R. But the company has confirmed it will not sell the refurbished models in the US.

To recall, Samsung suspended sales and production and permanently discontinued the Galaxy Note7, following reports of the device catching fire while charging due to defect in the battery.
