Sony launches EXTRA BASS headphones and wireless speakers in India
Sony is launching a slew of new audio devices in India under EXTRA BASS line up, that consists of four speakers ã…¡ SRS-XB40, SRS-XB30, SRS-XB20, SRS-XB10, two headphones ã…¡ MDR-XB950B1 and the MDR-XB550AP and a earphone ã…¡ MDR-XB510AS
First up the headphones, the MDR-XB950B1 and MDR-XB550AP are priced at Rs. 12,990 and Rs. 3,290 respectively. The MDR-XB950B1 wireless headphones sports a premium metal headband, and support Bluetooth audio streaming and NFC. It packs 40mm driver and includes bass boost function, which can enhance the low-end frequencies of an audio track, according to Sony.
The MDR-XB550AP on the other other hand is a wired headphone. It also sports a metal headband but packs 30mm driver and lacks wireless features. Both headphones also come with in-line remote with microphone that supports voice assistant functions.
Next is the MDR-XB510AS in-ear earphones priced at Rs. 2,790 and is designed for sports enthusiasts. It is splash-proof, washable and features tangle-free cord and packs 12mm driver unit.
Coming to the speaker segment, all the four speakers are wireless and splash proof. The SRS-XB40 speaker sports a multi-color LED as well as a line light on the front. The EQ/Color of the LEDs can be changed using Sony's Music Center app. The speaker offers battery life of up to 24 hours and can be also be used as a power bank. It costs Rs. 13,990.
The Sony SRS-XB30 and SRS-XB20, on the other hand, sports the same design as SRS-XB40, but the XB30 comes with a single multicolored line light, which can be customized via Sony Music Center app, whereas the XB20 includes a single, colored line light LED. The SRS-XB30 and SRS-XB20 offers up to 24 hours and 12 hours of music playback respectively, and are priced at Rs. 9,990 (XB30) and Rs. 6,990 (XB20).
The SRS-XB40, XB30 and XB20 can also also be used to form a wireless party chain, connecting up to 10 speakers via Bluetooth for a surround sound experience.
Lastly, the SRS-XB10 speaker has a cylindrical compact form factor and be positioned vertically or horizontally. It promises 16 hours of uninterrupted music playback and carries a price tag of Rs. 3,590.
Sony's EXTRA BASS audio devices will be available for purchase starting April 25 via Sony Centres and major electronics stores across the country.
