Tecno Mobile enters Indian smartphone market with i3, i5 and i7, starting at Rs. 8,000

A new smartphone maker, Tecno Mobile has entered the Indian market. It is a subsidiary of Hong Kong-based company Transsion Holdings, which previously launched itel in the country. The company also plans to bring another brand "Infinix" to the Indian market as well.

Coming back to Tecno Mobile, the brand launched five new smartphones (naming is like Intel's processors) – the i3, i3 Pro, i5, i5 Pro and i7 with prices ranging from Rs. 8,000 to 15,000. Like itel, Tecno Mobile has also opted for the offline route to sell its phone, instead of online, so it will be competing with the likes of Gionee, Oppo and vivo.

The phones runs the latest Android Nougat based HiOS and supports dual SIMs, microSD card, 4G VoLTE (Voice over LTE) and ViLTE (Video over LTE). 

Tecno i3 & Tecno i5

Tecno i3 and Tecno i3 Pro
The Tecno i3 features 5-inch HD IPS display and is powered by MediaTek MT6737 processor with 2GB RAM and 16GB storage. It gets 8MP front and rear cameras, and packs 3050mAh battery.

The i3 Pro offers the same specs as Tecno i3, but comes with 3GB RAM and a fingerprint scanner. 

Tecno i5 and Tecno i5 Pro
The Tecno i5 has 5.5-inch HD IPS display, MediaTek MT6737T processor, 2GB RAM, 16GB storage and 13MP/8MP cameras. It includes a fingerprint scanner and is fueled by 4000mAh battery with Rocket fast charging support. 

The i5 Pro, also gets the same specs as Tecno i5, but comes with 3GB RAM and 32GB storage

Tecno i7
The phone sports 5.5-inch Full HD display and is equipped with MediaTek MT6750 processor, 4GB RAM and 32GB storage. For photography, there's 13MP with quad-LED flash and 13MP selfie camera with LED flash. The main camera boasts PIXLEX engine to improve the quality of photos and videos captured at night. It packs 4000mAh battery with Rocket fast charging support, and includes a fingerprint scanner (embedded into home button).

As for the pricing, the Tecno i3 and i3 Pro are priced at Rs. 7,990 and Rs. 9,990 respectively, Tecno i5 and i5 pro at Rs. 11,490 and Rs. 12,490 respectively. They will go on sale starting April 19 via offline retail stores in Punjab, Rajasthan and Gujarat. Tecno i7 costs Rs. 14,990 and will be available from early May. All five smartphones come in Champagne Gold, Sky Black, and Space Grey color. Also these phones are backed by 100 days replacement and one time screen replacement warranty.
