Meet Jelly, the world's smallest 4G phone with 2.45-inch display, Nougat
Mobile phones started as tiny devices, and as the time passed started getting bigger and bigger. But China based company Unihertz believes that there is still a market for devices with smaller screen size.
The company has made what it calls the world's smallest 4G-enabled smartphone running Android Nougat. Meet Jelly.
Jelly is not meant to be your primary device, and the company is not targeting for that either. Instead, the company says it is the "ultimate answer to any situation where using a heavy, expensive primary phone is inconvenient.". You can use it as a secondary device, that fits your pocket, without taking much of the space, or as a MP3 player when you running or working out.
Jelly measures 92.3mm x 43mm x 13.3mm (3.6 x 1.7 x 0.5-inches) and sports a tiny 2.45-inch screen with 240 x 432 pixels. The phone is small enough to fit your coin pocket.
Being tiny means the hardware inside will be on the the lower-end of the side, but it does not miss out on any key features that are available in entry-level devices.
It is equipped with 1.1GHz quad-core processor, 1GB RAM, 8GB storage, 8MP/2MP cameras and dual-nano SIM slots. It also includes the basic connectivity features like WiFi, Bluetooth, 3.55mm audio and GPS. There's also a Pro variant that comes with 2GB RAM and 16GB storage.
The device packs 950mAh battery, and the company is promising an impressive battery life of up to three days of run time on normal usage and up to seven hours of standby time.
Unihertz has also designed a armband to mount the Jelly, that you can use while you are running or working out. The company says that the phone will work with most of the " 4G network carriers except those with CDMA".
The Jelly phone is priced at $59 ($109 market price), while the Jelly Pro at $75 ($125 market price) and are available for pre-order via the company's Kickstarter campaign page. The phone will comes in Pearl White, Sky Blue and Space Black color and is expected to ship in August.
