Micromax launches Canvas 2 (2017) with Gorilla Glass 5, Android Nougat for Rs. 11,999
Micromax is launching 2017 edition of Canvas 2 A110 budget smartphone, which it launched in India back in 2012. It runs Android Nougat of the box, and the screen is protected by a layer Corning's Gorilla Glass 5, a tech found on Samsung's Galaxy S8, Asus' ZenFone 3 Zoom and Sony's Xperia XZ Premium. The Gorilla Glass 5 is scratch resistant and can survive falls from up to 1.6 meters, the average selfie taking height.
In terms of specifications, the Micromax Canvas 2 (2017) features 5-inch HD display and is powered by quad-core MediaTek MT7637 processor backed by Mali T720 GPU and 3GB RAM. On-board storage is 16GB, which can be further increased via microSD card.
It gets 13MP camera at the back accompanied by LED flash and 5MP selfie camera. The dual-SIM phone supports 4G LTE, VoLTE, WiFi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.0 and GPS. It is fueled by 3050mAh battery and includes a fingerprint sensor embedded into the home button.
The Micromax Canvas 2 (2017) is priced at 11,999 and will be available via offline stores across the country in Black color. It comes bundled with 1GB 4G data per day and unlimited voice calling to any network (FUP of 400 minutes per day, 1500 minutes per week) in the country for one year for new and existing Airtel users..... plus one year of screen replacement warranty.
