nubia Z17 or nubia M2 Plus spotted on Geekbench with Snapdragon 835 processor
Last month, ZTE's sub-brand nubia unveiled the Z17 mini and nubia M2, mid-range smartphones in China boasting features like Snapdragon 6xx chip, up to 6GB RAM and dual-cameras. Now it appears, that the Chinese device maker is working on a more powerful version of one of these devices (nubia Z17 mini or nubia M2) equipped with Qualcomm's top-of-the-line chipset.
A nubia device with model number NX563J alleged to be the nubia Z17 has been spotted on Geekbench database. There's also a slight chance that the NX563J could be M2 Plus because the nubia M2 and M2 Lite carrying the model number NX551J and NX573J was spotted on TENAA, and the model number of all three devices are alomost in line.
As per the listing the nubia Z17 / M2 Plus will feature 1.9GHz octa-core Snapdragon 835 processor. The chip is backed by 4G RAM, though we can expect a variant with 6GB RAM.
The device is listed running Android Nougat out of the box, and has a single core test score of 1,853 points and multi-core test score of 6379 points, which is impressive and almost matches scores of Samsung's Galaxy S8/S8+ and HTC's upcoming flagship HTC U 11.
Unfortunately, Geekbench listing doesn't reveal anything else regarding the nubia Z17 / M2 Plus, but the device will most likely appear on GFXBench and AnTuTu database in the future revealing more details. However, we can expect nubia to retain the dual 13MP rear cameras, 16MP selfie camera and fingerprint scanner, while applying tweaks to the display, storage and battery department.
There's no word when nubia plans to launch the nubia Z17 / M2 Plus at the moment.
