OnePlus 3, OnePlus 3T is getting new OxygenOS beta build, adds incoming call gesture

It's update time again for OnePlus 3 and OnePlus 3T, but for those who are enrolled in OnePlus' beta program. OnePlus is rolling new Oxygen OS beta build to the OnePlus and OnePlus 3T in the form of Open Beta 15 and Open Beta 6 respectively.

The latest beta update brings changes to the UI with optimization for several system apps and bug fixes. The revamped dialer app is getting two new gestures to go along with the refreshed UI. Now when receiving a call, you can swipe down to answer it or swipe up to reject it.

The update  revamps various system apps like Messages, Setting and Contacts to go in line with the new user interface. Furthermore, there's a new action bar for Messages and Setting with collapsible and expandable action bar. OnePlus says this feature will be added to more apps in the future.

Apart from the new UI, OnePlus is also adding new Bluetooth Optimization, which brings support for aptX codex for high-quality audio via Bluetooth devices like headphone. The update also brings optimizations to Night mode, and the system which notifies you when apps are using a lot of battery, along with bug fixes.

Release notes and descriptions for this Open Beta build:
  • New dialer and incoming call interface
    • We created a new answering mechanic to go along with the refreshed UI below: Swipe down to answer and swipe up to reject an incoming call
  • UI optimizations for Messages, Settings and Contacts
    • Refreshed UI
  • New action bar for Messages and Settings
    • Collapsible and expandable action bar (more to come in the future)
  • Optimized high power usage notifications
    • Optimized the system which notifies you when apps are using a lot of battery
  • Bluetooth optimizations
  • Night mode optimizations
  • Bug fixes
As usual, the new Open Beta will roll out over-the-air soon, for those who are running on previous beta build, while those running stable version of OxygenOS, have to manually flash the new beta build. Also, once you have migrated to the Beta path, you will receive Open Beta OTAs in the future, and no longer receive regular stable OTAs. Moving back to stable OTA path from the beta path will require a full install and clean flash.
