OnePlus 5 arrives this summer
After so many fake leaks we finally get to here something official about OnePlus' upcoming flagship. The Chinese smartphone maker has confirmed to The Verge that, a new flagship killer is arriving this summer, and since number 4 is considered to be unlucky number in China, it will be called OnePlus 5.
Unfortunately, the launch date is still a mystery, but OnePlus fans will now be happy to know that OnePlus 5 is coming within a few months. The OnePlus 3 was launched in June, so we can expect OnePlus 5 to show up around the same time.
The OnePlus 5 will be the successor of OnePlus 3/OnePlus 3T, and like its predecessors, is likely to feature flagship level high-end specs at a mid-range price, half of what Samsung, HTC, LG, Sony sell their flagships for.
While there is not much known about the specification, we can expect the OnePlus 5 to feature 5.5-inch Full HD display, same as its predecessors, Snapdragon 835 processor, 6GB RAM, up to 256GB storage, dual-rear cameras, fingerprint scanner, a bigger battery and Android Nougat.
Rumors are suggesting that OnePlus 5 could have 8GB RAM, which cannot be ruled out, because that much memory is already available in smartphones, for example, Asus ZenFone AR, though it is yet to hit the market. And since, OnePlus terms its devices "flagship killer", it can be expected the OnePlus 5 packs all the latest hardware.
