OnePlus 5 Might Be Faster Than The Galaxy S8 & Xperia XZ Performance

With the OnePlus 5 confirmed to be launched in the coming months, the leak mill is ablaze. The latest buzz has it that the OnePlus 5 might be faster as compared to Samsung's recently introduced Galaxy S8 (and S8 Plus) and Sony's Xperia XZ Performance.

The buzz has been sparked by a screenshot obtained by GSMArena which shows the Geekbench scores of the OnePlus 5. The OP 5 clocked 1963 and 6687 in the single- and multi-core scores.

Meanwhile the Galaxy S8 scored 1978 and 6375 in single- and multi-core benchmark test. The Xperia XZ Performance follows the Galaxy S8 with scores of 1943 and 5824. Although the OnePlus 5 might be able to give stiff competition to the S8 and XZ Performance, it is still a no-match to the iPhone. The single and multi-core scores for the iPhone 7 Plus are 3473 and 5664 respectively. It is important to note here that most applications use only one core, instead of multiple cores. So even though the multi-core scores of both the OnePlus 5 and Galaxy S8 are higher as compared to the iPhone 7 Plus, the iPhone 7 Plus still tops the performance charts with it's excellent single core scores.

The above screenshot also reveals that the OP 5 will run on Nougat 7.1.1 based OxygenOS. The OnePlus 5 is expected to sport 8GB RAM, dual camera setup and Snapdragon 835.
