Xiaomi India sells over 250,000 Redmi 4 units in eight minutes in first online sale
Xiaomi launched its latest Redmi series budget smartphone in India called the Redmi 4 last week. It first went on sale on May 20 at Xiaomi's Mi Home in Bengaluru. But earlier today, the Redmi 4 went on sale for the very first time online, Xiaomi's stronghold, and unsurprisingly the response was overwhelming.
The Chinese smartphone maker has announced that it sold more than 2,50,000 units of the Redmi 4 within eight minutes of the first flash sale on Amazon India and Mi.com.
"Howzat!! It's a hat-trick! Redmi Note 4 followed by Redmi 4A and now Redmi 4. Can't thank all you #MiFans enough for so much love!"
Earlier Xiaomi sold 250,000 units of Redmi Note 4 in 10 minutes, and 250,000 units of Redmi 4A in just four minutes during their first flash sale.
Xiaomi offers the Redmi 4 in three variants starting at Rs. 6,999. The base model with 2GB RAM/16GB storage is priced at Rs. 6,999, 3GB RAM/32GB storage version costs Rs. 8,999, and the 4GB RAM/64GB storage version costs Rs. 10,999. However, only the 2GB RAM and 3GB RAM variants were available during the first flash sale.
The specifications of Redmi 4 include 5-inch HD display, Snapdragon 435 processor, 13MP/5MP cameras, 4100mAh battery and fingerprint scanner. It runs Android Marshmallow based MIUI 8, and support VoLTE.
