Apple MacBook laptops gets Kaby Lake
Besides the updated iMac AIOs, Apple is also refreshing its MacBook and MacBook Pro line as well with Intel Kaby Lake processor.
The new MacBook features faster Kaby Lake processors up to 1.3GHz Core i7 with Turbo Boos up to 3.6GHz, and up to 50 percent faster SSD, and supports up to twice the memory. With the upgraded innards it now weighs 900g and measures 13.1mm thin. Prices now start at $1299.
The Touch Bar toting 13-inch and 15-inch MacBook Pro also gets Kaby Lake processor. The 13-inch model can now be configured with up to 3.5GHz Core i7 processor with Turbo Boost up to 4.0GHz, while the 15-inch goes up to 3.1GHz Core i7 with Turbo Boost up to 4.1GHz. Moreover, the 15-inch MacBook Pro also comes with more powerful discrete graphics with more video memory.
The MacBook Pro 13-inch prices start at $1299, MacPro 13-inch with Touch Bar at $1799, and the MacBook Pro 15-inch with Touch Bar starts at $2399.
Apple also refreshed the 13-inch MacBook Air with a bump in megahertz. It gets 1.8GHz Core i5 version of Broadwell Intel Processor. Prices start at $999 for the 128GB storage model, and $1199 for the 256GB storage model. Both will pack 8GB RAM.
The updated MacBook, MacBook Pro and MacBook Air are up for order on Apple.com, and will be available in Apple stores starting June 7. All the new Apple MacBooks will be getting the new macOS High Sierra update later this fall.
