Honor 9 goes official with dual-cameras, Kirin 960 and 6GB RAM
Huawei sub-brand Honor has announced its latest flasgship smartphone, the Honor 9 at an event in China.
Just like its precessor, the Honor 9 boasts dual-camera setup at the back comprising of a 20MP monochrome sesor and 12MP RGB sensor backed by features like 2x optical zoom, potrait mode and bokeh mode. The rear cameras also include dual-tone LED flash, 4K video recording capabilities, laser auto-focus and PDAF.
Honor 9 also has the same design as Honor 8 sporting a premium metal and glass design, but gets a few tweaks. The fingerprint sensor is moved from the rear to the front, and is now embedded into the home button. Also the edges of the rear side, is now curved. It runs Android Nougat based EMUI 5.1, and includes AKM Hi-Fi audio chip for an enhanced audio experience.
As for the other specs, Honor 9 features, 5.15-inch Full HD display, octa-core Kirin 960 processor, 8MP f/2.0 selfie camera and 3200mAh battery. Connectivity options are hybrid dual-SIM slots, 4G w/ VoLTE, WiFi 802.11ac, Bluetooth 4.2, GPS, NFC and USB Type-C port.
Honor will offer the Honor 9 in three variants: 4GB RAM + 64GB storage priced CNY 2299 ($338 | Rs. 21,800); 6GB RAM + 64GB storage priced at CNY 2699 ($397 | Rs. 25,600); and 6GB RAM + 128GB storage costing CNY 2999 ($441 | Rs. 28,500).
The Honor 9 comes in Blue, Amber Gold, Grey and Black colors, and will be available in China starting June 16.
