June Security Patch Is Being Rolled Out To Carrier Locked & Unlocked Galaxy S8/S8+
Samsung Galaxy S8 and S8 Plus users will be glad to know that their phone is being updated to the June security patch. Apart from the Nexus, Pixel and Android One devices, only the Moto X Play has received the June security patch.
The update weighs 150.03MB. Apart from bumping the security patch level to June 1, it also brings enhancements to Bixby. Galaxy S8/S8 users can now give voice directions to Bixby by pressing and holding the dedicated Bixby button on the left side of their phone. The update-related info can be found below.
Android Version: 7.0
Samsung Experience: 8.1
Security Patch: June 1, 2017
Baseband: G950U1UEU1AQE3
Kernel: 4.4.16 built May 25th 2017
Build: NRD90M.G950U1UEU1AQE3
The update is being rolled out to carrier locked and unlocked variants of S8 and S8. If you own a S8/S8 on AT&T, Sprint, Verizon or T-Mobile, you should be receiving an OTA notification soon. Usually, carrier locked models receive the update later than unlocked models. It's great to see all the variants get the update together this time around.
