Microsoft's Xbox One X is the most powerful gaming console
Microsoft at its E3 2017 conference, has finally introduced Xbox One X (formerly code-named "Project Scorpio"), the most powerful gaming console to date. The company says, Xbox One X is 40 percent more powerful than any other console. It has the same design as Xbox One S, but is smaller in size, comes in only Black color, and packs powerful hardware.
The Xbox One X features six teraflops of processing power, topping Sony Play Station 4 Pro's four teraflops. It is equipped with 2.3GHz octa-core processor and 128GB GDDR5 RAM, and has a memory bandwidth of 326 GB/s. It is capable of running 4K games at 60fps. However, 1080p display can even take the advantage of the enhanced hardware, as Xbox One X can perform "super sampling".
The console offers complete 4K entertainment package with 4K UHD for Blu-ray drive and streamed content, HDR support for gaming and video, spatial audio and Dolby Atmos support for enhanced sound experience.
Other specs include advanced liquid cooling system, built-in power supply, 3 x USB 3.0 ports and IR blaster. The console can be placed horizontally and vertically with an optional stand.
Microsoft also says that current Xbox One game and accessories will work with with XBox One X. At launch, Microsoft is also offering Xbox One X Enhanced versions of existing Xbox One games including Gears of War 4, Forza Horizon 3, Minecraft, Resident Evil 7, Final Fantasy 15, Rocket League, each upgraded to take advantage of Xbox One X’s additional performance.
In addition, The company also introduced 22 game titles that would be exclusive to Xbox One X, that include Crackdown 3, Forza Motorsport 7, Assassin’s Creed: Origins, Metro Exodus, Anthem, Cuphead, Sea of Thieves, Player Unknown’s Battlegrounds, Middle Earth: Shadow of War, Life is Strange: Before the Storm, and many more.
The Xbox One X has been priced at $499 USD / 449 GBP / 499 EUR / 599 CAD/ 649 AUD and will hit the markets starting November 7. Every Xbox One X unit will come with a 1TB hard drive, a matching Xbox Wireless Controller, HDMI cable, power supply, a 1-month free Xbox Game Pass subscription and a 14-day free Xbox Live Gold membership.
