Nokia 6, 5 & 3 Will Be Updated To Android O

HMD Global's plans to put Nokia back into the smartphone market were further fuelled by the confirmation of Android O update for Nokia 3, Nokia 5 and Nokia 6. HMD had launched it's first Nokia branded smartphone in January and had quickly followed it by the Nokia 3 in February. The Nokia 5 is expected to arrive sometime later this month. All the handsets will be powered by Android's latest iteration of Nougat.

Google hasn't yet released the source code for Android O. Android O is currently being beta tested by Google in the form of preview builds. In a statement made to TechRadar, an HMD Global spokesperson said,

"The smartphones will get the Android O update once the new release is  available from Google for their OEM partners, the same way HMD Global  is committed to the monthly Android security updates"

HMD Global will soon be launching it's budget trio of Nokia 3, Nokia 5 and Nokia 6 in India. A confirmed Android O update will give consumers another reason to spend their money on Nokia devices.
