ANDROIDIFY EPISODE THREE: Bypass System Compatibility Error
Are you an individual running on the earlier android versions?
If so, you've already encountered a PlayStore error "Your device is not compatible with this version." This message is tailored to make you aware that your device runs on a lower Android version and at times, your device has a lower system architecture compared to the game or application you wanted to download.
If you wanted to overcome this, you should either purchase a new device that has a high end performance with the current Android version or you can go the extreme way to tweak your device to suit PlayStore requirements.
You are probably reading this because you chose not to purchase a new device. Well, let's tweak a droid.
First you will need to root your device. Rooting will give you access to easily navigate the system files secured by Google.
Next, install a root browsing app that has an embedded text editor. I suggest ES File Explorer.
Now open the root browser and grant it Super SU permission.
Navigate to device/system/build.prop
You'll need to look for ro.build.version.release and change the digit to the current Build Version.
Note: The number should be accompanied by a decimal or point (.) and should not have a space. For example, Android Nougat variants should look like 7.0.0, 7.0.1 and 7.1.1 and not 7. 0. 0 or 701 or 7.
Great. Now you are almost done. Confirm if you have done the steps correctly and save the changes.
Finally, reboot or restart your device for changes to take place.
