HTC reportedly working on mid-range Ocean Life with Snapdragon 660, Edge Sense
HTC is reportedly bringing HTC U 11's Edge Sense capability to a mid-range smartphone. For those unaware, Edge Sense, allows you to trigger certain actions like opening camera, send text by voice, check email and more just by squeezing the edges of the device.
According to reliable HTC leaker L1abTooFeR, the device is codenamed Ocean Life, and will offer toned down specs compared to HTC U 11.
The Ocean Life is expected to feature 5.2-inch Full HD display, 16MP front and rear camera, Android 7.1.1 Nougat with Sense 9.0, Bluetooth 5.0 and 2600mAh battery.
It will utilize Qualcomm's latest mid-range Snapdragon 660 Mobile Platform, that is built on 14nm node, and has eight Kryo 260 cores clocked up to 2.2GHz. It will also ship with HTC's USonic earphones, this means, the phone will have USB Type-C port.
The HTC U 11 packed 4GB RAM and 64GB storage (select market 6GB RAM/128GB storage), but it is not clear if Ocean Life will have the same amount of RAM and storage or lesser.
Unfortunately, the tipster hasn’t yet revealed when HTC plans to launch the Ocean Life.
